Digital learning of safety-relevant knowledge and associated behaviors

DigiLernSicher aims to investigate the use of new digital technologies, such as virtual reality (VR), and game-based learning approaches for the training of safety-relevant aspects for apprentices and employees and to identify initial implementation options. Immersive technologies enable dangerous situations to be experienced safely and safety measures to be repeated as often as necessary.

The specially developed VR scenario was tested for acceptance with 109 electrical engineering apprentices and 88% stated that they were very satisfied or satisfied with it.

• VR app “DigiLernSicher” for checking basic protection in a residential setting for electrical engineering trainees
• Recommendations for the successful implementation of VR in the education sector and in companies with results of the field study
